Parent Nights

Once a month, we host Parent Nights for any parents of high school teens. Each night, we'll go over the topics we've been covering at Life Nights and at Confirmation prep, as well as have time for prayer and discussion. These nights are not mandatory for parents, but we aim to make them as helpful, informational, and fun as possible so they will be worth your time.

Next Parent Night: Tuesday, January 28th, 7PM @ St. Rose

Each night we will have handouts of the night's overview available online. In order to save paper, we will not provide printed copies. You are more than welcome to bring your own printed copy ahead of time, or look on on your phone. But you won't need the overview unless you want to take notes.

Parent Life

Life Teen's Parent Life

“Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule. The home is well suited for education in the virtues. This requires an apprenticeship in self-denial, sound judgment, and self-mastery-the preconditions of all true freedom. Parents should teach their children to subordinate the ‘material and instinctual dimensions to interior and spiritual ones.’ Parents have a grave responsibility to give good example to their children. By knowing how to acknowledge their own failings to their children, parents will be better able to guide and correct them.” (CCC 2223)

If this sounds overwhelming, you're not alone. Raising kids is hard enough, and raising Catholic kids in today's society is even harder. But you aren't alone. We invite you to learn with your kids, and continue the discussion at home. If you sign up for our weekly newsletter, we will attach overviews of the teaching from that weekend's youth group and ways you can start the conversation with your kids. Remember--families that pray together, stay together!
