Catholic Prayers
Children in the First Reconciliation and First Communion program must memorize these four prayers before First Reconciliation.
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
OR
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with the help of Your grace, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Amen.

PRAYER TO MY GUARDIAN ANGEL
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever
this day, be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen
GRACE BEFORE MEALS
Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts which we are about to
receive from your bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen
THANKSGIVING AFTER MEALS
We give you thanks, almighty God, for all your benefits,
who live and reign, world without end. Amen.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

MORNING PRAYER
O Lord, you have brought me to the beginning of a new day. Save me by your
power so that I may not fall into any sin. May everything I say, and all that I do,
be directed to the performance of your justice, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
EVENING PRAYER
O my God, I thank you for all the benefits which I have ever received from you,
and especially this day. Give me light to see what good I have done today
and what sins I have committed and grant me the grace to be truly thankful
and the grace to be truly sorry for them. Amen
NIGHT PRAYER
Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit: Lord Jesus, receive my soul. In
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ crucified, I lay me down to rest. Bless me, O
Lord, and defend me; preserve me from a sudden and unprovided death and
from all dangers and bring me to life everlasting with you. Amen.
