Children's Liturgy of the Word

An Invitation to Children in Pre-School through Grade 5

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a practice for children, ages pre-school through Grade 5, leaving the Sunday assembly during the Liturgy of the Word and gathering in the Parish Hall to celebrate their own version of the Liturgy of the Word that is more appropriate to their level of understanding and in a relaxed and inviting setting. Children return to their families during the offertory. Parents and older siblings are also welcome to join us to come and see what we are about.

Purpose of Our Program

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word aims to introduce children in Grades Pre-K – Grade 5 to important aspects of God’s message by:

  • Helping them hear the Word of God (Sacred Scripture) proclaimed at the Sunday worship in a language suited to their age and in the company of other children.
  • Helping them receive God’s Word in their hearts and respond to it in their family life and elsewhere.
  • Leading them in Prayers of the Faithful and Creed

Mass Times for Children’s Liturgy

The Children’s Liturgy will alternate between St. Agnes  (10am Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month) and St. Rose of Lima  (8:30am Mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month) Parishes.
