What does high school faith formation look like now?
Starting Sunday, March 22, we will be resuming Faith Formation for 9th and 10th grade, but it will take place online. Each week on Sunday at 6:00pm, two videos will be posted--one for 9th grade, and one for 10th. Each video will also have a PDF to go with it, as well as a response form to fiill out once you have completed the module for the week. There are 3 components to each week's content:
1) Video Teaching
2) Family Discussion Questions
3) Personal Prayer
What are the Confirmation requirements now?
The only requirement left for the 10th grade now is to follow along with the videos. After your family completes the discussion and prayer, you will fill out a quick form to acknowledge completion of that week's module. Once Mass resumes, you will be required to attend Mass again. In the meantime, we strongly encourage everyone to watch Mass online, and consider joining us for any service, retreat, or conference opportunities offered once it is safe to do so. You will also need to fill out the Confirmation Requirement Form as soon as possible.
What do I need for the Confirmation forms?
You will need to know who your sponsor and Confirmation Saint are, and have your baptism information on hand. If you were not baptized at St. Agnes or St. Rose, we will need a copy of your Baptism Certificate. You will also need to write a letter declaring why you want to receive the Sacrament. This letter should be adressed to Bishop Hennessey and Father Dan with the following information:
- Adress the letter to: "Your Excellency Bishop Hennessey and Father Daniel Hennessey,"
- Your Full Name
- A brief 2-4 sentence introduction (age, school, parish, family, hobbies, etc.)
- Your Confirmation saint and why you chose to take that name
- Why you want to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation
- Who your sponsor is and why you picked them.
- Please type, sign, and proofread your letter before uploading it to the Google Form
Where will updates be posted?
Any parish-wide updates will be posted on our website here and on our Facebook page here. Any updates in regards to Elevate and faith formation will be posted at tci.church/elevate and on our Instagram page, @CIElevate. We highly recommend that everyone using social media follows our Facebook and Instagram pages for the most up to date information. We will continue to send emails via Flocknote as well.
I haven't been getting your emails, how come?
Please check your spam/junk folder first. All mass emails come from email@example.com so you will want to add this email address to your address book. We have recently cleaned up Flocknote and re-added everyone's email. If you did not receive an email on Friday, March 20 2020 titled "Elevate Coronavirus Updates", then please send an email to Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why haven't you answered my email/voicemail?
Due to the extremely high volume of emails and voicemails received in the past week, I have not yet been able to answer everyone. I will be going through all my emails this week and next to answer any questions that have not been answered in our Parish Updates and on this FAQ page. Thank you for your patience! If you have any other questions, please send Chris an email at email@example.com. I will not be in the office much at all until this clears up, so email is the best way to get ahold of me for now.
Please know that I am praying every single day for all of you! I pray that the Lord keeps us all healthy, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Take time each week to pray, to ask God for help where it is needed, and to thank Him for the good things that continue to happen each day, no matter how small. These times are tough, but He is tougher, and we will persevere.
